But as I said, I just got OBD plug in deal larger than just a connector, but more like a plastic 2' x 4' 'box' and a USB cable. Being for a 2002 540, I don't need the round 20 pin connector so did not ask for one. Just OBD plug-in and cable to connect to my computer. No instructions, no software disk, no link to a site to obtain software, NADA. I received the scanner 1.4.0 yesterday from Xcar360 and all I received was the plug in OBD module-like device and a cable to connect this module to USB computer port. I bought what I *thought* I was seeing used on the forum 'interchangeably'- that being BMW scanner 1.4.0 and PASoft. I let what lots of men have (I call it Di*k-head momentum) where we get so fixated on something that we rush to do it and then research. I bought the diagnostic scanner mentioned above from Xcar360 and admittedly did not do my homework.
They say no question is a stupid question except the one we don't ask, so here I go.
